4250: 100Hz, 1kHz, 10kHz & 100kHz
20Hz to 100kHz

The recommended replacement for all three models is now the 4310 LCR Meter. The 4310 has many significant improvements compared to the older models:

  • Lower minimum frequency (20Hz)
  • Many more measurement frequencies (557 steps)
  • Extra measurement parameters (Z Y θ B G X)
  • Wider AC Drive range (10mV to 1Vrms)
  • Many more AC Drive levels (200 steps)
  • Faster measurement speed
  • DC resistance as standard
  • Larger and easier to read display
  • Autoranging AC input voltage

Three additional 4300 models are available when a measurement frequency greater than 100kHz is required:

  • 4320 (20Hz to 200kHz)
  • 4350 (50Hz to 500kHz)
  • 43100 (20Hz to 1MHz)

4230 => 4320

Basic Accuracy0.1%
Frequency Range100Hz to 200kHz20Hz to 100kHz

The recommended replacement for the 4230 is the 4320. The 4320 has some significant improvements compared to the older model:

  • Wider AC Drive range - 200 steps from 10mV to 2Vrms
  • Faster measurement speed - 20ms
  • DC resistance as standard
  • Larger and easier to read display
  • Autoranging AC input voltage
  • GPIB, RS232, LAN and USB interfaces
  • Bin Handler options

4265 4270 => 4300 Series

Old ModelReplacement Model
4265 100kHz
4270 1MHz
Automatic LCR Meter
4300 Series
LCR Meter
AvailableMade between 1996 and 2013First made in 2009 and still in production
Basic Accuracy0.1%
Frequency Range4265: 50Hz to 100kHz
4270: 50Hz to 1MHz
20Hz to 100kHz

The 4300 models have some significant improvements compared to the older ones:

  • Extra measurement parameters (Reactance X, Conductance G, Susceptance B and Admittance Y)
  • Faster measurement speed (17ms compared to 100ms)
  • DC resistance as standard
  • 20 setups can be stored to memory
  • USB, LAN, GPIB and RS232 all standard interfaces
  • 4 BNC connections allow all standard Wayne Kerr fixtures and leads to be used

The 4265 and 4270 were the only models which used the non-standard 8-pin Lemo connector to connect to the device under test. All current Wayne Kerr instruments use the standard 4-BNC 4-terminal pair connection method, and so all Wayne Kerr accessories currently available are interchangeable. The following table contains the key specification features. Further details are available on request.

6425 => 6430B
